Prayer Request

I would like to ask for prayers during my week long stay in Sarawak which will begin from 18-16 June 2005. Will leaving at 7.20am this coming Sunday on AirAsia and would return on an evening flight on 26 June 2005. Thus, you would not be able to see for two Sundays. My sis, Julia and I will be going on this mission trip with seven of our friends. This is self initiated mission trip to go back to some of the villages that some of the people of the team had been to last year. We are going on our own without a pastor accompanying us but would be following an Iban pastor from SIB church, Pas. Paul Landing who would be our spiritual leader on this trip. We would be going to Sibu and Sarikei. There, we will be venturing into the interiors by van and boat to four villages namely Engsering, Masin, Rantau Rimau and Langok.

As we are not under the covering of a church or the CF, I would like to ask for prayers to accompany us and cover us. Pray that God will cover us as we go and minister to the ingenious people of Sarawak mainly to the Iban people. Many of them are actually Christian but practices animism or rituals. Pray that God blood will cover us and protect us from the evil one. We would also be travelling quite frequently, spending a night or two at some long houses. Pray that the weather will be good and well as raining season will cause the unexpected rise in the rivers that could be dangerous.

This would be my first mission trip and I hope to learn much from it. There is mixed feelings for this trip both of excitement to minister to the people and also of fear as to what we would be faced with during our trip both physical and spiritual. I hope to come back with testimonies to share with all. Hope you guys are doing well and pray that you have a good week ahead.
